Clancy is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and documentary filmmaker. She is the former Producer for Every Mother Counts (EMC) the non-profit organization founded by global maternal health advocate Christy Turlington Burns. Clancy has over a decade of experience working alongside community health organizations globally, primarily in sharing stories of the barriers and solutions to maternal healthcare. She is known for directing and producing the 6-part documentary film series, Giving Birth in America on CNN which analyzes the contributing factors to why the United States is the most dangerous industrialized country to give birth. In addition to the Giving Birth in America series, she has directed/produced content highlighting the journeys of pregnant women and healthcare providers in Tanzania, Guatemala, Haiti, Malawi, Uganda, Nepal, India, Indonesia, and Bangladesh.

Clancy began her career in maternal health in 2008 when she co-produced Turlington Burns’ feature documentary film, NO WOMAN, NO CRY about global maternal mortality and morbidity. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2010 and was distributed on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network in 2011, in addition to being screened in over 120 countries.

Clancy continued her maternal health advocacy work alongside Turlington Burns helping develop Every Mother Counts into a 501c3 non-profit since its launch in 2010. In addition to storytelling, Clancy has extensive experience in donor relations, having helped create and produce Every Mother Counts’ supporter trips and fundraiser events.

Clancy has partnered with award-winning filmmakers and photojournalists including Lynsey Addario, Jessica Dimmock, Nicole Mackinlay Hahn, Janet Jarman, Monique Jaques, Venetia Deardon, and Josh Estey. In addition, she has collaborated with brands such as Apple, Starbucks, CNN’s Great Big Story, TOMs, and Citizens of Humanity to produce content on behalf of EMC. Clancy’s work has been featured on CNN, National Geographic, OWN, TIME, and The Washington Post, and screened at global health conferences and film festivals, including the Tribeca Film Festival, SFFILM's Doc Stories, The Savannah Film Festival, Women Deliver, the American Public Health Association, the United Nations General Assembly, the American College of Nurse-Midwives, the American College of Obstetricians Gynecologists, Columbia University, Stanford University, NYU College of Nursing, NYU Langone Medical Center, UCLA School of Law, Frontier Nursing University, and Capitol Hill.

Clancy has experience as a high-risk Labor & Delivery nurse in one of the few midwife-led hospitals in Los Angeles, CA. She is also the Co-Founder of Pregnancy Pathways, LLC, a maternal health consulting company that provides education and recommendations to newly pregnant people on whom to hire, where to deliver, and what to expect during pregnancy and birth.

Clancy is a DONA-trained birth doula who completed her accelerated BSN at Mount Saint Mary's University - Los Angeles and BA at New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Frontier Nursing University to become a Certified Nurse-Midwife in 2024.
